Exchange Migration 2010 to Exchange 2013-Part 3:Exchange 2010 Installation

In this article we are going cover Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP3 server installation and Creating mail boxes.

Before installing Exchange 2010 please check the prerequisites for Exchange server 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Please open the windows power shell with administrator privilege and run the below commands

Add-Windows Feature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-Digest-Auth,Web-Dyn-Compression,NET-HTTP-Activation,RPC-Over-HTTP-Proxy -Restart

Please see the below screen shot for reference

please click enter once you type the commands and start the installation

After restarted server then start the exchange 2010 installation now you can see the installation of exchange server 2010

Please click next in setup page

Please select no and click next in error reporting window

Please select the type of exchange server installation then click next

Please specify the name of the exchange organization and click next

Please select the client settings and then click next

Then configure your client access server for external domain access. Please enter the domain name and click next

please select the customer experience improvement option then click next

Now you can see your server verifying for exchange prerequisites

please click install once your server ready for exchange installation. If you get any error while checking kindly download and install the request updates from Microsoft websites then clear the errors.

Now you can see your Exchange installation progress. It might take time more than 40 minutes for completing the installation.

please click finish in the installation wizard once your exchange server roles has been installed successfully

Please restart the server for making the changes Effectively.

After successful installation of Exchange 2010 now open the exchange console panel for creating your mailbox data base. please click on new mailbox data base for creating data base

Please mention the mail box data base name in the wizard

please select the data base paths where you want to locate your data base then click next

now you can see your mail box data base will be created.

click finish once your wizard installation wizard completed successfully.

Now you can see in exchange panel your mail box data base has been created successfully.

now you can see how we are creating user mailbox

click new mail box on the wizard

choose mail box type

Then select the user type

now enter the user name and account information for mail box

click next once you fill up the account information

Enter the alias for the mail box user and select the location settings

Select the mailbox database then click Ok

click next once you selected database

select the archive settings

click next for creating new mailbox

click finish once the wizard completed successfully.

Now you can see your user mailbox has been created successfully in exchange panel.

select the mail box which you want to move to other database.

Right click on the user mailbox then click new local move request

select the mailbox then click next for move database

select the mailbox database where you want to move the selected user mailbox then click ok

now you can see the selected database in target window

select the skip mailbox then click next

click new to move the mailbox to target database

click finish once wizard completed successfully.

click move request option to check the move request status.

check the properties of the user mailbox for database location then click ok

Go to the DNS manager and right click on the domain name for creating the new resource record

now you can access your mailbox through outlook web access

Put your user credentials in the login page.

Select the language and time zone

Now you can see you have received mail in your mailbox.

select new exchange option for assigning the certificate services for the existing server

Right click on the exchange server and slick on assign the certificate services

Then select the server and click next to assign the certificate services

select the services for certifying your exchange server then click next

click assign to continue in the wizard screen

click yes to assign SMTP Certificate for your exchange server

click finish once your wizard completed successfully.
